[PS2, PS3, Xbox, Xbox 360] New Features Announced for NHL 2K7
Posted by Ashish on 07.18.2006

2K Sports is finally talking about some of the new features going into NHL 2K7.

"Year after year, we've been delivering new and innovative ways to play the exciting game of hockey," stated Greg Thomas, president of Visual Concepts, 2K Sports development studio. "The new skating engine in NHL 2K7 far surpasses anything we've ever produced and the advancements made in the Pro Control add the excitement and control our fans have been craving."

New features to look for:
- New enhancements to the game's Pro Control mechanic for both the offensive and defensive sides, allowing for things like drop passes.
- Much tighter defensive options which allow players to lock in on certain opponents and "shadow" them. Gamers will be able to decide whether to play them safe or very tight with lots of checking.
- Hundreds of new skating animations that will create a much more realistic look.

The game is due out for the PlayStation 2, Xbox, and Xbox 360 in September followed by the PlayStation 3 version sometime this year.
